2013 Holiday Exchange

I know, I know. I’ve harassed you enough. I just wanted to give one more reminder for our Holiday Exchange, which is happening on Elfster.com in a Secret Santa-style swap. We’re exchanging handmade tokens or fabric in the $10-15 range at our December meeting on the 19th. Names will be picked by Elfster tomorrow, so today is the last day to sign up if it sounds like fun.

If you have already signed up, think about adding something to your wishlist. Maybe you have a closet full of pin cushions, or you are collecting yellow FQs for your stash. Let your Elf know by clicking on the Elfster logo, then looking along the top menu for “Add to Wishlist.” It’s right under the pink bar, next to “Start Gift Exchange.”

Then it will encourage you to add products to your list. We just want to add messages, so click on the “Text” tab and type whatever you’d like to let your Elf know.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I can’t wait to see who I get!

Meeting this Thursday

MEETING THIS THURSDAY!
Our next meeting is this Thursday, October 17! Can you believe it? That came quick. Remember to bring your chair, nametag and this week, any scraps you may have from the Cloud9 The Land That Never Was Challenge. We’re going to start planning the finished quilt, and every scrap helps. (If you want to keep them, that is fine, but we’ll need scraps, Kona White and Kona Black for the backing.)

The board will also be presenting our recommended dues for 2013, which must be passed by 2/3 of attendees, so this will be an important one.

OPEN SEW
Our first Open Sew was a lot of fun! This is just a reminder that the next one will be held on Thursday evening, November 7 at the Church of Latter Day Saints in North Caldwell.

HOLIDAY SWAP

At our December meeting on December 19, we will be having a Secret Santa-style gift swap! The plan is to make a trinket (pin cushion, change purse) or pass on some cute fabric (FQs are perfect gifts for quilters) with a $10-15 limit. We’re going to use an online organizer called Elfster, so keep an eye on your inbox for the invitation. You’ll be able to enter any preferences you have, as well as favorite colors and fabric designers. Sign-up is completely optional and 100% anonymous.

THE MODERN QUILT GUILD NEWSLETTER
The Modern Quilt Guild is launching a new newsletter with membership information and free patterns! Sign up is here. We will have more information about our NJMQG group on the national site soon.
