Thank you to Beth Rowan who shared with us her Quilt Con demo, Sew Many Substrates. We loved learning about how to use other fabrics besides quilting cottons in our projects. We also loved all the gorgeous samples.

We also had a special visitor, Janita’s sister, Berene  (happy sew lucky)  if you want to add her to your instagram accounts and be inspired.) She graciously brought some door prizes with her. Lucky Us.

As always we had amazing Show and tell from our very talented guild members. And quite a few charity quilts were added to be given away.

Mini Swap

We had so many members participate in our very first mini quilt swap. Everyone did a amazing job creating something special to swap. It was fun to see all of them.

Quiltcon Recap.

Thank you to all the members who took the time to tell us the experience that they had in Austin. We loved hearing all the details.  Aleeda also passed around a slide show on her iPad so we could see the lovely quilts from the show. Thank you for that.  What fun that we had those generous swag bag and other giveaways! Congrats to all the winners.

As always we had a wonderful time and thank you to all you incredibly talented and creative women for bringing in and sharing with us your quilts.

This months meeting was our quaterly open sew. For all that weren’t able to attend, you were missed. What a wonderful fun time getting to know everyone and watch them working.  We also began work on laying out our Guild Quilt at our open sew on Saturday.

Our next meeting will be on Thursday, November 20th at 7:00 pm over at Rock Paper Scissors. Please remember to bring your name tags and a chair. Also look for an upcoming blog post on how to download the Instagram App onto your phones and set up your username. During our meeting we will be having  a Instagram 101.

We have decided not to participate in this years Quilt Con Charity Quilt. With the deadline for the quilt being Jan 3rd we just felt we would not have enough time to prepare a quilt.

Thank you for all the work on the charity quilts. They are all beautiful and will be very much appreciated by their recipients.

Also, a HUGE thank you to the LDS church for allowing us to use their gymnasium.
