August Guild meeting & GUEST – THURSDAY!

Our guild meeting is this Thursday 8/18 at 7:15 pm via ZOOM! We’ll open at 7pm to visit beforehand.

Guest speaker: Tighe Flanagan – sharing about his work, journey and pumping you all up for his upcoming class this Saturday. There are a few spots still available – sign up via the website.

Tighe Flanagan has a background in visual arts and Middle Eastern studies and loves to combine these passions through patchwork and quilting. His creative work is greatly influenced by a sense of place — those he has visited and researched as well as his home in Washington, DC. In addition to quilting and patchwork, Tighe enjoys sewing menswear and teaching others new skills and techniques.

We’ve got a few updates to share at the top, then we’ll hand over the meeting to Tighe.

Please hold onto your WIP photos and Show & Tell pics until our meeting next month – there will be no slide show this meeting for sharing them.

Check your email for the Zoom details & see you THIS Thursday!

MAY Guild Meeting – ZOOM it!

Our guild meeting is this Thursday 5/19 at 7:15pm. Zoom will open at 7pm.

We’ve got a guest this month for a trunk show and presentation! Mel Beach will be joining us for her Fun & Games in Quilting talk.

Mel Beach is a San Jose, CA based quilt artist, teacher and lecturer, who breaks away from tradition by adding her own modern, beautifully textured, and colorful twists. She loves stretching her creativity through her completion of 100+ quilt challenges at the local and international level in addition to several 100-Day Projects involving a roll of dice. Her quilts draw upon her inquisitive nature of asking “What If?”, “Why Not?”, working in a series, comedy improv studies, along with her love of nature, photography, and sketching. Mel is passionate about teaching/lecturing, with a focus on quilting on a domestic machine and modern quilting techniques. Starting in 2016, Mel has taught for quilt shops, guilds and quilt shows all across the United States

We’ll do a quick bit of business at the top of the meeting and hand everything over to her.

Please send us photos of your WIPs for our monthly prize drawing & we’ll see about timing during the evening for our Show & Tells – we may need to hold those until our LIVE meeting next month

Please send us pictures by end of day Wednesday:
