Our guild meeting is this Thursday 3/17 at 7:15pm.

We’ve got a special guest this week at our meeting…. On finding her voice in modern quilting.

Audrey Esarey of Cotton & Bourbon – her work has been exhibited and recognized at Quilt National, International Quilt Festival, and QuiltCon. Her Watercolor quilt series and Radial Quilt Series are well known amongst modern quilters. She shares her creative process on Instagram via @CottonandBourbon and sells her patterns and seam clappers on her website cottonandbourbon.com

We’ll do quick business at the top of the meeting and then hand it over to Audrey for her presentation, afterwards we’ll have some Q&A time with her, and our guild show & tell.

Our guild meeting night is this week!

Our Zoom guild meeting is 11/18/21 & the meeting is wherever YOU are.

We’ll open it up at our usual 7pm for a quick visit & we’ll start at 7:15.

We’re excited to share with you – we’ve got a guest speaker this month!

Cindy Gristela will be joining us.
From her studio in Reston, Va her abstract quilts are designed improvisationally without a preconceived pattern, a little bit like jazz music. She does all of her stitching on a machine, but it is entirely hand driven. There is no computer program or marking ahead of time. She stitches the motifs freehand using the needle and thread of the machine like a pencil or brush.

She is a self taught fiber artist but comes from a long line of women who have expressed themselves using needle and thread. She has a BA in Fine Arts from the College of William and Mary and an MBA from George Washington University.

She is the Author of Artful Improv: Explore Color Recipes, Building Blocks & Free Motion Quilting, and a new book, Adventures in Improv Quilts: Master Color, Design & Construction.

It’s almost here – Guild Meeting DAY!!

Silly Moon Quilting will be joining us for a quilting ruler demo and trunk show!
