Thursday Zoom – April Meeting 4/20/23!

Our Guild Zoom meeting is this Thursday & we’ve got a guest speaker!!

We’ll start a bit early so we can hand over our meeting to our guest: 

Lisa Shepard Stewart!

Zoom opens at 7pm – we’ll go through some quick business updates at the top so Lisa can begin as soon as possible

We’re looking forward to seeing you and sharing time with our exciting guest!

Lisa Shepard Stewart is a writer and designer based in New Jersey.  In her books, African Accents: Fabrics and Crafts to Decorate Your Home and Global Expressions: Decorating with Fabrics from Around the World, Lisa encourages others to express themselves creatively through culturally relevant techniques and materials.

Her third book, African Accents On The Go! Designing Accessories with Cultural Style was published in 2007, and in 2011 began publishing FABRIGASM magazine, for Lovers of African Textiles.

Lisa offers classes and events internationally, and travels to Ghana to source artists, fabrics and materials. She also organizes and hosts SewJourns to Ghana, Colorado, New Mexico and other fun destinations.

Lisa has written for various web sites, and trade and consumer publications. and has demonstrated several projects & techniques on HGTV, and DIY, along with Discovery Channel and sewing & quilting programs on PBS. For four years (2001 to 2004), she was the craft columnist for the Star-Ledger, New Jersey’s largest newspaper, serving a readership of over 450,000 at the time.

She opened CE’s first studio location in downtown Rahway, NJ in 2017. The space combines retail and event space for classes and private parties.

Saturday – LIVE Meeting & Open Sew!

OOoooooooooohh – we’re meeting in PERSON!!

This Saturday for our annual Tea Party Meeting! & we’ve combined it with an Open Sew directly afterwards!

Saturday Mar 18, 2023

10am-4pm – we’ll have our usual meeting business up front 10-12, then switch over to an open sew set up

Cedar Grove location

Reminder – Bring with you:

Favorite tea cup or mug

Fancy hat – if you’re feeling fancy

Dessert or snack for sharing – (it’s a tea party after all!) with a label if it’s home made

Items for the FREE table! – these must leave with you if not taken

Show & tell items

Needle Book if you are participating in the swap

Fabric requirements if you are participating in Sam’s bag how-to (email with details was sent from Programs)

Sewing machine, cords, project stuff etc – all the fun stuff for sewing with FRIENDS!!

Lunch or lunch money – there is a fridge & microwave & food in the area if you go out
