Our Zoom guild meeting is this Thursday 1/20 at 7pm
We’ll open it up at 7pm, to chat for a few minutes and start at 7:15. We’ve got a bit of guild business to share, some Programs teasers and then we get to see all your end of year makes for our show and tell.
Our email with the ZOOM call in details will come soon.
Our Zoom guild meeting is 11/18/21 & the meeting is wherever YOU are.
We’ll open it up at our usual 7pm for a quick visit & we’ll start at 7:15.
We’re excited to share with you – we’ve got a guest speaker this month!
Cindy Gristela will be joining us. From her studio in Reston, Va her abstract quilts are designed improvisationally without a preconceived pattern, a little bit like jazz music. She does all of her stitching on a machine, but it is entirely hand driven. There is no computer program or marking ahead of time. She stitches the motifs freehand using the needle and thread of the machine like a pencil or brush.
She is a self taught fiber artist but comes from a long line of women who have expressed themselves using needle and thread. She has a BA in Fine Arts from the College of William and Mary and an MBA from George Washington University.
She is the Author of Artful Improv: Explore Color Recipes, Building Blocks & Free Motion Quilting, and a new book, Adventures in Improv Quilts: Master Color, Design & Construction.
The email with the ZOOM call in details will come soon.
