From CJMQG

The Central Jersey guild is having a very informal guild retreat and we’d love it if some of your members can join us.

The info is:
Fri July 18th at noon – Sun July 20th at 8pm
Hyatt House, 530 US HWY 22, Bridgewater, NJ
http://bridgewater.house.hyatt.com
$70

It’s 3 days of open sewing fun.  We have room for a total of 20 guests (obviously our guild took up a bunch of the spots).  The sewing room will be open 24hrs for sewing whenever meets your fancy.  No food is included, but the hotel serves breakfast (free if you stay there) and light dinner fare and bringing your own snacks and drinks is totally permitted.

You are not required to stay at the hotel (but come on, it’s fun!) but they are offering a reduced rate of $119 for a one bedroom suite (has a full kitchen, 1 king bed and pull out sofa), or $169 for a 2-bedroom/bath suite (2 separate bedrooms with kings, full kitchen, 2 baths, and a pull out sofa). Rate is available only until June 25th.  Call the hotel at 908-725-0800 to make a reservations and mention the group “Central Jersey Modern Quilt Guild”

To reserve a spot, email us at centraljerseymqg@gmail.com and let us know you are coming.  We will send you the address to send a check and your spot will be held for 6 days for the check to get to us.  We will go based on the order we receive emails…

Hope to see you there!

We covered a lot of ground at the June meeting. Here is a brief recap, with updates to come.

We unanimously elected board members for the 2014-15 term. The officers are Melanie Tuazon, President, Stella Singleton, VP, Jessica Fabula, Treasurer, Amy Rehbein, Secretary, and Daniela DiIorio, Program Director.

MUG RUG SWAP

Members made and swapped some drop dead gorgeous mug rugs! They were so awesome they’ll get their own post.

RETREAT INFORMATION

GUILD DONATION IN PEGGY KELLEHER’S NAME

Judy V. read a thank you note from Peggy’s family about the donation the guild made in her name to the hospice that took such good care of her. Thank you to all who gave and shared memories of her.

MICHAEL MILLER CHALLENGE

A reminder — the Michael Miller fabric challenge deadline has been extended to July 24! There will be posts about how to submit your quilted object on the blog very soon. We can’t wait to see what everyone did with the fabric.

NEXT MEETING

Very important! Our next meeting will be on Saturday, July 12 at the Church of Latter Day Saints in Caldwell from 12-4. 209 Mountain Ave. This will be a sewing meeting, so bring your machine and an extension cord.
