February Swap: Cross-back Apron

screen-shot-2017-01-21-at-9-58-22-pm

It’s time for the February swap! This month we’ll be making Cross-back Aprons (like the one in the photo above from Purl Soho). Sometimes called Japanese work aprons, these versatile aprons are a great cover up for crafting, baking, canning, or gardening. How lovely would these look in linen for an airy look this spring!

This is an assigned swap, so you’ll get to work one-on-one with your partner to determine fabric, pattern, color, and special touches to personalize it – and the partner you sew for will sew for you!

Purl Soho has a great step-by-step tutorial here and The Daily Sew has one here. If you have a favorite pattern, feel free to use it – just ensure it is the cross-back style!

To participate, complete the registration form by clicking here.

Sign ups close on January 27th.
Partners will be emailed by January 30th.
Bring your apron to the February guild meeting on the 16th.

If you’d like to read a little about the history of the apron, Food52 has a great article here.
