October 17th Guild Meeting Recap

Greetings Guilders!

In case you weren’t at last months meeting, here’s what went on.

Guild Business

We had 42 members in attendance with 7 Guests (Beth, Judy, Donna, Barb – Rachel’s mom, Maria, Mandy & Heidi.) Welcome!

Treasury Report

Lenny walked us through the 3rd quarter treasury report. We also discussed the 2020 budget which will be up for a vote by members at the November meeting. Dues to remain the same for the upcoming year.

Jackie won the raffle.

Carol Mann shared about the Brita Nelson workshop “Crumbs to Quilts” she took with Garden State Quilter’s guild.

Programs

For future workshops, we would like to have a volunteer to take photos and post to social media. If you plan on attending a future workshop and would be willing to do so, please let Christa or Janet know.

Negative Space Challenge was put forth for the October meeting and participation was good.

Mystery Quilt – Final Clue The final directions will be going out early to allow everyone extra time to assemble their quilt top to bring to the November meeting. And if you won’t be finished by November, no worries! Whatever month you complete your quilt top, bring it in for show and tell and receive a prize from Programs.

EPP by Machine Workshop still has a few openings, so sign up today!

Holiday Swap Item for Holiday Party

It was put to a vote between a pincushion, mug rug or tote bag. It was very close so we we’ve decided to do your choice of a mug rug or tote bag.

**Holiday Party will be Thursday December, 19th.

Ask the Guild will be returning at the November meeting and every odd numbered month going forward. Bring a project you are stuck on and “ask the guild” what they suggest you do next.

Member Trunk Show with Carol Mann At the November meeting, Carol will be giving us a peak in to her quilting world with a trunk show of her projects.

Finish a Quilt Meeting In January, we will be having several mini demos on different aspects of finishing your quilt. We are still looking for people to demo techniques. If you would be interested, please contact Programs.
