It is the time of year to renew membership or join NJMQG for the 2015 calendar year. All dues must be received by December 25 to ensure that we get 2015 membership cards in a prompt manner. The great news is that it’s now easier than ever to fill out your membership form and pay your dues– you can do it all right now! You can also complete the application now and pay at our meeting this Thursday, December 18 with a credit card, cash or check.

This year, we have gone paperless for Applications! Just click on the link below to enter your name and email address. Mailing address and phone number are optional. We then just need you to check two boxes that pertain to Guild policy, and you’re done.

Step 2 – Pay Dues

Dues for 2015 are $50. If you’d like to pay with a credit card, whether online from home or at a guild meeting, there will be a $2 surcharge.

If you’d like to pay your dues right now using a credit card, debit card, or PayPal account, click on this PayPal link.

If you’d like to pay in person with Jessica at the meeting, the easiest way  is with a credit or debit card. The guild has Square, which lets you swipe your card, sign, and have your receipt texted or emailed to you instantly. We will also be accepting checks or cash. Checks should be made out to North Jersey Modern Quilt Guild in the amount of $50. NJMQG dues are tax deductible.

Once we’ve received your application and dues, you’re all set! We’ll give out membership cards as soon as we have them.

‘Tis the season for our second annual NJMQG swap! It’s one of our favorite meetings of the year, when we get together to share some cheer and a gift with a swap partner. Names were swapped in October, and we hope you’ll bring something special for your special someone. Please also bring a chair and if you are so inclined, a little something to eat or drink.

We’ll start with some short announcements and dates at 7PM on Thursday, December 18 at Rock Paper Scissors. Then we’ll launch right into the swap, which will happen simultaneously with show and tell. If you’ve made quilts for the holidays, we want to see them!

We will also be collecting dues for 2015– membership renewal is $50. We’ll have another post about that this week with online payment options if you prefer that method.

O-PEN IT! O-PEN IT! O-PEN IT!

This months meeting was our quaterly open sew. For all that weren’t able to attend, you were missed. What a wonderful fun time getting to know everyone and watch them working.  We also began work on laying out our Guild Quilt at our open sew on Saturday.

We have decided not to participate in this years Quilt Con Charity Quilt. With the deadline for the quilt being Jan 3rd we just felt we would not have enough time to prepare a quilt.

Thank you for all the work on the charity quilts. They are all beautiful and will be very much appreciated by their recipients.

Also, a HUGE thank you to the LDS church for allowing us to use their gymnasium.
