Reminder: September 2016 Meeting this Thursday!

• Our September meeting is this Thursday, September 15th, 2016 at 7:15pm at the Community Church of Cedar Grove, 65 Bowden Road, Cedar Grove, NJ 07009. Parking is located in the large lot in the back – use the side entrance to come in. Feel free to arrive about 15 minutes early.

• Important: Check in at the registration table to sign in and pick up a raffle ticket for door prizes before finding a seat.

• Member Trunk Show continues: Betsy V. is the next featured NJMQG Member in our Member Trunk Show Series for 2016!

• Warwick Valley Quilters Guild Raffle Quilt: This beautiful quilt will be on display at our meeting. Please see Judy V. to purchase raffle tickets!

• Call for Library assistance: We are in need of a temporary librarian to fill in for a while. If interested, inquire with Vice President, Amy R. at the meeting on Thursday.

• FREE table: Bring in the quilty items you no longer use and drop them on our FREE table at the beginning of the meeting. If your items are not taken, please bring them home with you.

• Member Corner: Many of our members have their own creative businesses and services to offer. A designated table is provided for members to leave their business cards, class/workshop lists, postcards, etc. This is a great way to get the word out about what you have to offer!

• Library: Have you have borrowed a book from the NJMQG library? Books can be checked out for one month. If you borrowed a book at the last meeting, remember to return it at this meeting.

• Refreshments: Consider bringing a light refreshment to share at the meeting. If you are able to do so, please comment below.

• Remember to bring your name tag. If you do not have a name tag, we can arrange a partner swap- ask any of the NJMQG Executive Board Officers (Daniela, Amy, Annette, Kourtney, or Stella). As always, please bring anything you may have for Show and Tell!

November Quilting Retreat at Cross Roads

It’s time for the Fall Quilting Retreat at Cross Roads, hosted by Diane Fama! Everyone who has attended this retreat loves the location and the dedicated sewing time! Here is all the information provided by Diane:

It’s time for the November Quilting Retreat at Cross Roads! This year will be especially relaxing as the 2016 Presidential election will be over and we can sit and sew to our hearts content.

This is a bring you’re own projects to work on retreat – typically folks bring multiple projects to work on. You will need to bring your own sewing machine and standard sewing kit (thread, bobbins, scissors, etc.) Packing lists and detailed information will be sent to participants closer to the retreat dates.

Dates: Wednesday, November 9th – Sunday, November 13th

Check in on Wednesday starts at 11 a.m and lunch will be available

Check out on Sunday is no later than 2 p.m. and lunch will be served prior to departures

Location: Cross Roads Retreat Center / 29 Pleasant Grove Road / Port Murray, NJ 07865
What’s included: Double occupancy rooms with twin beds + all linens, 2-3 meals a day, plus snacks and beverages – bringing snacks to share is encouraged!

Cost: The total cost per person is $345.

A non-refundable deposit of $115 each is needed to secure your spot due by September 17.

The balance is due by October 24th. You may pay for the entire cost upfront, if desired.

RSVP: There is a limit of 28 spots available – this retreat tends to fill up quickly, so RSVP and send in your deposit ASAP. A waiting list will be created once the 28 spots have filled. To send an RSVP email Diane.

Our next Open Sew is Saturday, September 17th from 10am-2pm.
