October Member-Led Workshop: Trill with Melanie Tuazon

We’re delighted to host former NJMQG president, Melanie Tuazon to teach her Trill Technique workshop. In this workshop, Students will work on the Trill quilt design, which is made entirely with quarter circle blocks. Skills you’ll learn include:

  • Sewing curves
  • Glue basting curves
  • Trimming curved blocks
  • Blending curved elements when piecing.

Students should be familiar with sewing with a 1⁄4” seam allowance.

Melanie Tuazon is a self-taught modern quilter, quilt designer, teacher, and writer. She strives to make simple and stunning quilts and loves empowering new quilters to translate this time-honored tradition into their own personal style. Based in New Jersey, she teaches locally and regionally. She blogs about her quilts at melintheattic.com. She served as president of the North Jersey MQG from 2013-2015. Her quilts have been shown in Quiltcon 2015, 2016, and 2017, Love Patchwork and Quilting, Stitch, and the Quiltcon issue of Modern Patchwork. Her quilt “Rally” was the Modern Quilt Guild free quilt pattern of the month for February 2016. Her quilt “Flounce” received a 2nd place ribbon in Modern Traditionalism at Quiltcon Pasadena.
