Greetings! Hope you are all well during this snowy February! The best thing about that for me is all the quilting I’m getting done. So let’s get to it. We had 60 people join our Zoom meeting. We welcomed 5 new members: Neena Shah, Joanne Kornoelje, Ellaree Pray, Wannetta Phillips and Kaitlyn Fritsch.

Show & Tell

We started off with ‘Tells’ this time.

Betsy V. talked about one of her favorite rulers Bloc Loc blocloc.com. She recommends the half square triangle ruler for squaring up. You can watch a video on their site which shows what makes this ruler so helpful.
Penny M. shared about the reappearing act that occurs with the Frixion pen once it gets cold. That led to a longer discussion about marking pens and pencils, leading to a conclusion of marking thin lines from regular pencils work very well.
Samantha L. asked how to square a large quilt. Answer: start with the largest square ruler you have and do the corners first, then the sides.
Debby C. (I believe) asked a question about her rotary cutter leaving an uncut thread. Answers: try replacing blade, checking for damage on cutter, more pressure, moving fabric around on mat or flipping mat over.
