Programs

The following is snapshot of what our Programs team has put together so far for the year.

Mark your calendar now for these upcoming events so you don’t miss any of the fun.

Charity Quilt Block Pattern for 2021

In years past we have picked a particular designer’s quilt pattern to use for our guild’s effort to put charity quilts into our local community. This year we have selected a block put out by the MQG called The Corner Block.

The individual block with some options of layout.

In the past we have held charity open sew days in person to work on these projects. Now we ask you to go the website and login to retrieve the free pattern and create a quilt in your own design, to support our local charities.

You can submit a complete quilt or just a quilt top. We have batting and backing fabric available to help you finish your quilt.

Sign up today so you can be part of the fun reveal next fall!
Decide your own palate!

Programs also asked us to come up with our 21 Crafty Goals for 2021. It’s never to late to start, so begin your list today. Include things you’d like to accomplish, try, add or delete in all your crafting adventures. Then you can share them with us at our meetings throughout the coming year.

Reminders
  • Photos of projects for our monthly member meeting need to be submitted by the day before the meeting (Wednesday) with the month as the subject line.
  • Workshop enrollment cancellations – we strongly encourage you to not withdraw from a workshop(with the exception of emergency/extenuating circumstances). For many reasons this becomes a great nuisance for our programs committee. Thank you for your understanding.

All submissions/challenges for Quiltcon are due by November 30th.

Community Quilt Challenge Update:

Our quilt is coming together, front and back are pieced and it is now on it’s way to member Krishma Patel for quilting. Can’t wait to see it finished!

Please contact Elinore Gordon to arrange for pick up of any quilts or pillowcases you want to donate to charity. You can find her contact information on the roster in the members only section.

Black Friday 6-Hour Sew-a-thon!

November 27th 9 am – 3 pm

After all the stress and business getting ready for Thanksgiving, skip Friday holiday shopping. Join rotating hosts Rachel, Jeanine, Samantha and Sue and spend time with your sewing sisters! We will start at 9 am and give away our first prize at 10 and every hour on the hour after that! You must be present to win.

Please remember to take a photo of what you are sending out. Then send those photos to programs so we can put them into the slide show for the December Holiday Party meeting. Items must be mailed by December 7th to ensure your recipients get their gifts in time for the meeting 12/17.
