Member Group Survey – Programs, Workshops

To help us plan programs and workshops with your interests in mind, please share your thoughts about the following questions with your group and record the group consensus/answers (one person can do this). Use the back of the sheet if needed. Thank you.

What past workshops have you especially enjoyed? Are there any offered by NJMQG in the past that you would like to see repeated?
What skills or techniques are you interested in learning?
Which “professional” quilters would you like to see offering a workshop to NJMQG?
What challenges/monthly projects would you participate in? (bees, exchanges with other guilds, skill builders, minis, pouches, embellishment, etc)

Reminder: July Meeting this Thursday

OUR JUNE MEETING IS THIS THURSDAY, July 19, 2018 AT 7:15 PM.

PLEASE NOTE THE LOCATION: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 209 Mountain Ave, Caldwell, NJ 07006

Doors will open at 7pm. There will be a short survey to help the new Programs coordinators develop events for 2019. Please think about the kinds of programming you’d like to participate in.

Reminder: Open Sew at the air-conditioned Montclair Public Library Saturday July 21 10:00-4:00. Bring friends and sew for charity or your own project!

Important: Please sign in at the registration table

Remember to bring:

Charity quilts that you’ve completed
Refreshments: if your birthday is this month
Name Tag: If you do not have a name tag, we can arrange a partner swap – just ask any of the NJMQG Executive Board Officers (Margy, Kathy,
Aubrey, Jackie, or Crista).
As always, please bring anything you may have for Show and Tell!

• FREE table: Bring in the quilty items you no longer use and drop them on our FREE table at the beginning of the meeting. If your items are not taken, please take them home with you

• Member Corner: Many of our members have their own creative businesses and services to offer. A designated table is provided for members to leave their business cards, class/workshop lists, postcards, etc. This is a great way to get the word out about what you have to offer!

• Library: Have you borrowed a book from the NJMQG library? Books can be checked out for one month. Please see Laura F., our librarian.
If you have checked a book out, please return it at the September meeting when we will be back at the Community Church.

Saturday August 11th – Silk Screen Workshop with Aleeda Crawley. Signups will open soon; watch for an announcement. Meanwhile, keep doodling & sketching!

Fabric Screen Printing Workshop

Fabric Screen Printing Workshop

When: Saturday, August 11, 10-4

Cost: $75

Payable to Aleeda Crawley

Where:

Newark Print Shop

54 Halsey Street, Newark, NJ 07102

Parking is available at two nearby Park/Fast locations on Halsey Street, and Bleeker Street, both 1/2 block away.

Materials: For the class you need to bring very little. Solid, washed, ironed fabric, FQ size is best. I am not putting a limit on how many FQs you can bring. DO NOT STARCH YOUR FABRIC or use ANYTHING except water for ironing.

Bring a towel for wiping your hands. NPS has aprons for our use. Everything else will be supplied.

What to wear: Wear clothes that you don’t mind getting a little ink on!

Wear your super-comfy shoes because you will be standing for a good portion of the day. It won’t feel like it until you head home with your printed fabric.

Lunch: NPS has a tiny fridge if you wish to bring your lunch, and there is a Whole Foods on the first floor. There are fountains for water and refilling water bottles.

Important: Because this is a member-sponsored workshop, participants need to sign a hold harmless form when they arrive at the workshop site.
