QuiltCon Charity Quilting Bee this Sunday, January 8, 2017

We could use some help getting our QuiltCon charity quilt put together to be ready for machine quilting by our next meeting on Jan 19.

Margy S. and Sarah F. have agreed to coordinate the effort.

There’s a little bit of paper piecing to be done; putting the blocks and rows together; and then designing and adding borders.

If 5 to 10 members can work on it for two to three hours we should be able to accomplish this.

The plan is to meet at Margy S.’s house Sunday, January 8, from 2 – 5pm.

She lives in Clifton, quite near rtes. 3 and 46, and the Parkway. Come join us, we’ll have fun!

Bring your sewing machine if it’s easily portable, and your basic sewing kit.

We’ll bring the finished top to the next meeting for all to see. Hopefully the collective  creative mind will come up with a name for the quilt, so that someone can make a label.

Jackie L. has agreed to do the machine quilting, and after that we’ll need one more volunteer to bind it.

If you’d like to help but are unable to do so this Sunday, please let us know if the following Sunday or Monday (a holiday) work better for you.

Please contact Margy if you want to join our quilting bee. Click here or on the Members Only tab at the top of the page for her email address.

UPDATE Call for QuiltCon Charity Quilt Volunteers

Edited Jan. 3, 2017 to add:
Thank you so much to our two volunteers!
More details to follow.

We’re sending a call out for two volunteers to oversee the completion of our guild’s QuiltCon charity quilt.

With a deadline coming, we would so appreciate volunteers as soon as possible.

These volunteers would be responsible for overseeing the completion of the quilt and managing the rest of the volunteers.

The numbers are paper pieced, and rows need to be put together.

The remainder of the quilt has to be assembled.
