Kitchen Sink Quilting with Maria Shell

NJMQG would like to invite you to sign up for a virtual workshop with Maria Shell. We will join her on zoom for this fun workshop using leftovers and extras found in your sewing room to create a unique improv quilt. This is a 6 hour workshop split into two days. When you sign up, you are signing up for BOTH days, at one cost. The workshop will be held on October 9 and 16, 1-4 pm EST.

KITCHEN SINK QUILTING–The ART of Making Do
All leftover fabric, UFO’S, orphan blocks, and random strips of fabric are welcome in this class. We’ll take those pieces of what not and make them into a fun improvisational masterpieces. The focus of this workshop is on bit making (creating small improvisation-ally cut and pieced traditional quilt blocks) and composition.

August 2021 Meeting Recap

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT: Meetings will remain virtual in September. Repeat guild meetings will remain virtual in September.

Based on feedback that the board received from a member survey it was determined best to keep guild meetings virtual for now. In the meantime the guild will work on developing other opportunities for members to meet in person.

July 2021 Meeting Recap

Summer continues and temperatures are rising! Hope you are staying cool while making fabulous quilts! We had a number of members in attendance, welcomed new member Suzanne Fiorvanti, guest Heidi.

Guild Business

Thank you!! A big thank you to all of the outgoing board members for their hard work and many contributions to the guild. And a big welcome to our new board members. Lenny provided our Second Quarter financial report.

Return to In-Person Meetings

We are excited to share with you that starting in September, we will return to in-person guild meetings at the Community Church of Cedar Grove, more details coming at our August meeting.

Be sure to check out all the happenings that are going on over at the Modern Quilt Guild and Quiltcon 2022. It’s time to put your design caps on and work up a design in “Angles” for our Community Outreach Quilt for 2022. Collaborate or work independently on a pattern for this design contest in the color palette above. Please remember to submit your designs prior to the August meeting, we can’t wait to see them! We will be looking for your submissions in August!
