November 19th Meeting Recap
It’s almost Turkey Time! Are you ready?
Our October meeting had 44 members in attendance with no guests. We welcomed new member Jann Slapin, who some already know from Garden State Quilters guild. Welcome!
Guild Business:
Reminders
- Photos of projects for our monthly member meeting need to be submitted by the day before the meeting (Wednesday) with the month as the subject line.
- Workshop enrollment cancellations – we strongly encourage you to not withdraw from a workshop(with the exception of emergency/extenuating circumstances). For many reasons this becomes a great nuisance for our programs committee. Thank you for your understanding.
MQG Updates
All submissions/challenges for Quiltcon are due by November 30th.
Community Quilt Challenge Update:

Our quilt is coming together, front and back are pieced and it is now on it’s way to member Krishma Patel for quilting. Can’t wait to see it finished!
Treasurer’s Report & 2021 Budget Proposal
We thank Lenny for the amazing job she does keeping our financials in order. She presented the 3rd quarter report and provided the 2021 Budget proposal. Members voted via live survey and approved the proposed budget.
Charity Updates
We donated more pillowcases to Giving Hope Network. Please continue to make them as they will continue accepting them. Please contact Elinore Gordon to arrange for pick up of any quilts or pillowcases you want to donate to charity. You can find her contact information on the roster in the members only section.
We received a note of thanks from Trinitas Regional Medical Center for our donation from participation in the Connected Project.
Programs
Some of the results from the PapperSaxSten workshop 10/24 & 10/25
Open Sews in November
This has been such a hit! It’s been great seeing so many people get together, chat, sew and catch up! The best is yet to come…
Black Friday 6-Hour Sew-a-thon!
November 27th 9 am – 3 pm
After all the stress and business getting ready for Thanksgiving, skip Friday holiday shopping. Join rotating hosts Rachel, Jeanine, Samantha and Sue and spend time with your sewing sisters! We will start at 9 am and give away our first prize at 10 and every hour on the hour after that! You must be present to win.

Please remember to take a photo of what you are sending out. Then send those photos to programs so we can put them into the slide show for the December Holiday Party meeting. That way with all the excitement of people opening their gifts, we won’t miss out on seeing all the beautiful gifts you created. Items must be mailed by December 7th to ensure your recipients get their gifts in time for the meeting 12/17.
Samantha’ Favorite Things
A huge shout out to Samantha for giving us all kinds of wonderful, quick gift ideas to make this season. Please take a look at the previous post for all the details! I know I will be making a tissue holder or two!

And now for more pretty stuff!!
UFO Challenge
And the winner for November receiving a Tula Pink Coloring Book is Terry!
With 2 UFO’s left for the year, pick one or pick both. Make progress or finish, then submit your photo for a chance to win a Cotton & Steel coloring book!
