August 12: Indigo/Shibori Dyeing & Cyanotype/Photogram Workshop with Member Sarah Scott – One spot left!
Create a unique piece of indigo dyed fabric to use in any sewing project. We will learn how to apply various methods of folding, tying, and stitching our presoaked natural fiber to produce an endless number of patterns. One of the most delightful aspects of fabric dying is the element of surprise ; experimentation is mandatory and fun is the side effect!
Always wanted to try sun printing? Also known as cyanotype, or photogram, it is an early photographic process that dates back to 1842. An example of cyanotypes we are familiar with are blueprints used in building architecture. In this workshop, we will create our own cyanotype fabric pieces to use in garments, quilts or any sewn project.

August Swap: Mini-Mini Quilt – Make a mini-mini quilt and bring it to the August 21 Meeting. Draw a number and take the corresponding mini home. (A mini-mini quilt should look exactly as a full sized quilt would – only tiny -under 12×12)
Paint chip mini swap: at the September 21 meeting you’ll pick out a paint chip for inspiration and write your name on it. The chip will be put back and redistributed. You’ll make a mini quilt for someone using the paint chip for inspiration, and they’ll do the same for you. Finished quilts are due to be swapped at the November meeting.
September 23: Noodlehead Market Tote Workshop with Michelle Reiter – Only a few spots remain!
This versatile tote is great for a carry-on bag, farmer’s market trips, a library run or even as a stylish work tote! The possibilities for personalizing it and making it your own are endless!
In this class you’ll learn how to quilt with stabilizer, install a basic zipper, sew basic binding, and add fashionable handles.

October Potholder Swap: Make a potholder from a 8×8 traditional quilt block with a modern twist. Bring it to swap at our October 19 meeting, and bring home another!
October 21: Trill Workshop with Melanie Tuazon
Students will work on the Trill quilt design, which is made entirely with quarter circle blocks. Skills learned include sewing curves, glue basting curves, trimming curved blocks and blending curved elements when piecing.
Students should be familiar with sewing with a 1⁄4” seam allowance.

November 18: Nuno Felted Scarf Workshop with Josie Dakers
Have you ever fantasized about creating your very own one-of-a-kind art scarf? If yes, this workshop is for you. Come join Josie Dakers for a fun filled day where you will create your very own wearable art scarf using merino wool fiber, lightweight silk, cool embellishments, water, soap and lots of agitation.
This class requires standing most of the day so please wear comfortable clothing and shoes. Come prepared to roll up your sleeves and have fun! You will go home with a lightweight Nuno felt scarf for yourself or friend.
