May 2018 Meeting Recap

Hello everyone!

Here’s the recap of the May meeting.
(Sorry I didn’t get it up sooner and if any info is outdated)

Happenings

  • Quiltfest was a success. Thanks to everyone who helped. And everyone should have their quilts back?
  • Unfortunately we are losing another LSS. Quiltspot will be closing. Open through June.
  • Newark Museum has a fabulous fashion and tech makerspace
  • Chawne Kimber class samples. Look at those tiny pieces!

Things to do

  • Open sew Saturday May 19 10-4 perfect for the rainy day
  • Garden State quilter show May 19-20 in Parsippany
  • Pennington Day quilt show May 19
  • Schweinfurth Art Center in Syracuse-Quilting by the Lake summer program
  • Warwick Show cancelled because change of date of Applefest

T-Shirt Quilt Workshop with Kathy Morganroth now open for non-members!

 

Think you don’t have the skills to work with knits?
Think it’s too expensive or time-consuming?

If you know how to use a ruler and a sewing machine, you can make a throw-size quilt in one weekend!  In this class, NJMQG member Kathy Morganroth will teach us how to make a fun T-Shirt quilt without batting or fusible!

When: Saturday, June 16 from 10-4
Where: Communty Church, 65 Bowden Road, Cedar Grove
Cost: $30 for members, $35 for non-members.
Sign-ups are open for non-members.

TO SIGN UP, fill in the form below, then send your payment. Make checks out to NJMQG and bring to the next meeting, or mail to NJMQG 41 Watchung Plaza, Montclair, NJ 07042. Do not mail cash.
